- The current state of diabetes care in South Africa and an understanding of the short- and long-term health, societal and economic costs of this critical public health threat
- Clinical priorities of diabetes care in primary practice, including screening, diagnosis and pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to glycaemic control and the principles of cardiovascular care
- The role of primary care in addressing diabetes distress
- An understanding of insulin therapy initiation and intensification for type 2 diabetes and the clinical and quality of life benefits associated with simplified fixed-ratio combination insulin therapies.
