This summary review of the updated SARAA guidelines concentrates on the newly available therapies and provides clinical context with regard to the appropriate use of these medications in South Africa
It provides an awareness of new recommendations included in the recently updated 2024 SARAA guidelines regarding the:
- Management of rheumatoid arthritis
- Management of axial spondyloarthritis
- Management of peripheral spondyloarthritis/psoriatic arthritis
- Use of biologic/targeted synthetic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs indicated as therapy for the above mentioned diseases.
